FOCUS & ACHIEVE

Serving & protecting our country’s freedom is a job that our Military Veterans are dedicated to day in & day out. We commend & thank you for your service, bravery, & commitment. You carry the heavy loads, physically & mentally, & you are tested beyond measure in your service. You are the true Superheroes of our lifetime. You deserve to find peace.

The 125th Annual Convention of the American Psychological Association presented a new study that found male veterans who had elevated stress-levels, anxiety, or depression prior to practicing yoga bi-weekly in an eight-week program had a significant reduction in those symptoms after the program (J. D’Angelo Friedman, Yoga Journal, 2017). Yoga, in combination with meditation & mindfulness practices, aids in recovery from traumatic physical & mental states, as well as providing alternative mechanisms of wellness at a faster & more comprehensive rate to the body. Veterans are finding these practices to bring them better sleep, clearer minds, & overall ease in their everyday lives.

VALOR & PERSEVERANCE

You are already strong. You fight for this country. You have overcome many obstacles & you stand with honor. A strong foundation of perseverance is needed to continue onto your next journey. Nothing will get in the way.

Yoga has been practiced historically by warriors, ancient leaders, & Olympic athletes of all kind to build concentration, focus, discipline, & to keep the physical body in alignment & health. The postures in combination with the breath control practices , pramayama, are a gateway for release & can be a tool for relaxation, letting go of muscle tension, relieving stress, etc. “The key to recovery is to evoke the relaxation response that causes the release of neurochemicals in the body, which then create a soothing effect on the mind” (A. Bessette, Yoga International, 2018). The continued practice of yoga will help you overcome challenges & encourage you to persevere through anything that may come your way.

A successful warrior is the average man with laser-like focus.
